​​ICON is a conservative dental treatment that uses resin infiltration to treat certain early cavities and improve the appearance of qualifying white spots on the teeth. Unlike traditional fillings or veneers, ICON works by penetrating porous enamel with a highly fluid dental resin, often without drilling, injections or the removal of healthy tooth structure.

Depending on the location and purpose of treatment, ICON may be used in two different ways:

1. ICON Proximal is designed to treat certain early cavities that develop between the teeth. When decay is detected before a significant hole has formed, resin infiltration may help stop the cavity from progressing while preserving the natural tooth.

2. ICON Smooth Surface is used on the visible surfaces of the teeth to improve the appearance of certain white spots and enamel discolorations. These areas may develop after orthodontic treatment, from early enamel decay, mild fluorosis, or enamel development differences.
