ICON Proximal is a minimally invasive treatment for early cavities that develop between the teeth. These areas can be difficult to clean and may not be visible without dental X-rays. When decay is detected before a significant hole has formed, ICON may help stop its progression without traditional drilling or the removal of healthy tooth structure.

During treatment, the affected area is gently prepared and filled with a highly fluid dental resin. The resin penetrates the porous enamel and seals the pathways through which cavity-causing acids can enter. ICON Proximal usually does not require dental anesthesia and can often be completed in a single appointment.
